This book is a translation of the edited talks of Sri Nanna Garu given in his native Telugu at various towns in Andhra Pradesh, India. The talks are grouped under several headings and one of them is The Secrets of Sadhana. It gives useful tips to the spiritual aspirant for taming the mind.

Sri Nanna Garu, as he is affectionately known among the large circle of his devotees, was born in a community of landed aristocracy in the rich, fertile tracts of the Godavari river in Andhra Pradesh. Compassionate and charitable Nanna Garu was blessed by Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi of Tiruvannamalai over forty-five years ago. Nanna Garu, then in the prime of his youth, experienced the state of bliss, and wholly became Sri Ramana’s devotee. He visited Arunachala repeatedly and during one such visits he "felt his mind falling once and for all into his heart" as he told Roger Housden, a foreign admirer. Thereafter he became a changed man and started propagating the teachings of Sri Ramana Maharshi in Andhra Pradesh.

Professor M. Sivaramkrishna, the translator, was the former Head of the Department of English, Osmania University, Hyderabad. He was initiated at the age of eighteen during the birth centenaryof Sri Sarada Devi, the divind consort of Sri Ramakrishna in 1953. A deeply devout and spiritual aspirant, Sri Sivaramkrishna has written many books and articles on spiritual subjects which have been published nationally and internationally.
